My passion is to travel and to discover the souls of people, their cultures; traditions and why they are doing what they are doing. I love to dive into the heart of different cultures, reveal what makes them really tick and give insights about behind the scenes and to write about it. I want to pierce the heart of my readers by writing about my daily adventures, experiences, personal stories, funny anecdotes, short interviews as well as share insider travel information and hints.
Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.

I am Meike and I love people.
I like how they live their lives in their own way and how they live together.
How they make their decisions.
Why they are doing what they're doing.
Everybody is living and experiencing life differently and I think of myself as someone that has an eye to notice things what most people don't see or perhaps ignore because we live too fast.
I ask myself questions about the different people I meet during my travels.
What brings this person here?
where is he or she going?
What are they thinking about and why are they wearing these weird clothes?
This world we live in is a multicultural melting pot with so many different interesting people, cultures, habits, languages, food and places, of which I am part of!
My passion is to write about all these adventures, events, experiences, meetings, intersections in life, and take you with me on this journey!
This journey now takes me to the U.S.A.
To this vast but relatively young country if compared to the European countries. I want us to discover what makes this country tick.
The hearts and minds of the people.
The food they are eating. Their intriguing stories.
The beauty of this massive country and their meaning of life...

Last year in Hawaii, I made a connection that still fills my heart. It happened to me when I was swimming in the open sea. Only me and a Hawaiian kayaker had been out there. Suddenly he cried out to me "You must be female, they are heading directly to you". And then I saw them, huge fins moving up and down between the waves. Jesus, I thought. No chance to escape, they are faster than you. So I repositioned my snorkelling equipment and dived under the water. I could see 3 huge manta rays directly heading up to me. Very elegant and majestic creatures moving forward.
I was afraid, shocked and excited all at the same time. What a magic moment. I'll never forget the white frontage, their huge black fins and this very long, straight tail fin. When I put my head again out of the water the Hawaiian kayaker called out loud „thank God that I am on earth, that I am living and that I can see the beauty on earth“. My adrenalin was pumping and I was overwhelmed with happiness, which is something that still accompanies me whenever I think back to that moment and how his words became part of my attitude towards life.
